Voglio works differently than common “arranged-dating" apps. With Voglio, there are no profiles to review and no messaging to arrange a time to meet. Instead, you meet other users spontaneously, right where you are. It’s that simple.
Your Voglio feed will display only users who correspond to your specified preferences in your immediate vicinity (15-20 meter radius). You simply like any user who appears in your feed, and if they like you, you create a match, and meet where you are.
This simplicity creates a more authentic way to meet someone and allows you to be far more spontaneous
Your feed will display all Voglio users who fit your preferences within close proximity (15-20 meter radius) wherever you go. As you shift your location or other users shift theirs, new users will appear on your feed when in close range.
With Voglio, you will discover new people wherever you go – bar, club, beach, library, cafe, airport, wherever.
The app works best with your location services always switched on, but should you choose not to be seen on Voglio, simply switch “Appear on Voglio” off on your Profile page. It’s fast, easy, safe and authentic.
Spontaneous connections are at the root of Voglio matching. Any two users who like each other will match. Upon matching, it is up to the two users to approach one another.
With both users within close proximity, you should have no problem locating each other. As long as the matched user remains on your Match page, you are within close range.
The photo of a matched user will display “Out of Range” whenever a user has moved away from the immediate vicinity.
A 60-minute timer is there to entice you to meet within an hour after you match. But don’t worry if you don’t meet up within 60 minutes – after the hour timer expires, you will appear in each other’s Voglio Passport indefinitely and are always able to remove any past match from your Passport.
Your profile photo is very important to the use and safety of Voglio – it is your only personal information that is shared with users on Voglio. Your photo must reflect the real you or other users will not be able to locate you when you match.
Voglio employs image verification during the sign up process to ensure all user images verifiably reflect the real user. Each user must complete this process before they are able to enter the app and access Voglio feeds.
For more information on our image verification technology, please read our Safety Policy.
Because your profile photo is so important to the use and safety of Voglio (it is the only way to locate your match), our photo verification technology is deliberately sophisticated.
Every user will be asked to follow our photography guidelines to verify their photo. These guidelines are there to ensure all users display a legitimate photo of themselves, providing greater safety for all.
Our photo verification guidelines are fairly straightforward:-
Show your face clearly
-
Remove any hats or garments that obstruct your face
-
Ensure you have proper lighting
-
You cannot message other Voglio users through the app. This is deliberate, intended to encourage more spontaneous, real-world connections and protect your privacy.
With no messaging, Voglio naturally provides a safer environment for all users, both before and after a user meets someone for the first time. This is one of many safety features which naturally differentiates Voglio from traditional apps.
Some Voglio users may not appear on your feed for a number of reasons, including:
-
User preferences of others in close proximity may not correspond with yours.
-
You or other users may have turned off phone location services. We recommend always keeping your phone location services switched on. (Use “Appear on Voglio” to be seen by or hidden from other users on the app.)
-
You or other users may have “Appear on Voglio” switched off on the Profile page. “Appear on Voglio” must remain switched on for you to see others and be seen by others on Voglio.
-
You may have to adjust the filters on your feed (New, Liked, Hidden). To reveal all of the latest users in your feed, choose “New” from the Voglio Feed filter.
Importantly, you can always use the Voglio Map to help you discover other users.
-
Absolutely. You can block locations, users and contacts.
To block a location, simply go to Blocked Locations on the bottom of your Profile page and choose the target area you want to block. Your profile image will not appear on any user’s feed while you are in your blocked locations.
You can set as many blocked locations as you would like and easily remove them when they no longer apply. This can be used at your home, your place of work, or anywhere you choose.
While in blocked areas, you will no longer have access to your feed or matches, but you will maintain access to the Voglio Map and Passport, and all other functionality will remain the same.
For more information on Blocked Locations, please read our Privacy Policy.
When a match is flagged as “Out of range” it indicates that you or your match has moved outside of the Voglio matching range (15-20 meter radius).
Because Voglio is intended to encourage spontaneous, in-the-moment connections, “Out of range” lets you know when a matched user has moved farther away from you, as this will affect your ability to readily locate the user close by.
This can occur in large crowded environments or when matched users are on the move. But don’t let it deter you from your search – since you’ve already matched, you already know you are liked, and your matched user is more than likely looking for you too!
Voglio Passport is an archive of all your past matches. It will always be present on your Match page after your first match.
The passport showcases an image of each of your matches on the day you met, as well as the time and date of your match, and the specific location in which you first met.
It is designed so you can easily browse through all previous matches. You can always remove any of your past matches from the Passport, although you should be aware that this will permanently delete any record of that match from your passport, as well as the matched user’s passport.
“Appear on Voglio” on your Profile page allows you to control when you are seen on the app, without affecting your location services, notifications or other uses of the app, including the Voglio Map and Voglio Passport. When it is switched on, you can see others and will be seen by others on the app. When it is switched off, you cannot see others and will not be seen by others on the app. All other functionality will remain that same, and there is no need for you to change your phone’s location services when you don’t want to be seen on the app. Think of it as a simple on/off switch to your visibility on Voglio.
“Pause your account” in Settings allows you to pause all access and functionality to the Voglio app, without having to cancel your account. It is best applied if you intend to take a temporary break from the app and come back to it at a later date. When “Pause your account” is switched on, you will not appear on or be able to use your Voglio feed, match, map or Passport. Further, your phone location permissions will be switched off, and the app will be entirely unusable, although it will maintain all of your data, should you wish to “unpause” your account at a later date.
Absolutely. If a user appears in your feed, whether or not you have matched with them previously, you can always like them and open up the opportunity to match. There is no limit to the number of times you can match with the same person or different people, and having lots of past matches has no bearing on your chances of landing future matches.
If you match with a user but fail to meet up before the match timer runs out, you will always have another opportunity to match with that user again, as long as the user remains in close proximity, appears in your feed, and likes you again.
However, if you are blocked by another user or if they block you, you will not see that user on your feed and they will not see you on their feed, and as such, there will be no opportunity for the two of you to match or meet through the Voglio app.
The Voglio Map is a unique feature of our app, allowing you to find places with other active Voglio users. It helps point you in the right direction to find your match.
The higher the user count in any given location, the greater the probability of making connections through Voglio.
We encourage you to check the map often, wherever and whenever you go. Users can of course be discovered at different places at different times of the day or night, and you’ll often want to be where the action is.
